The Circus Space Pirates joined the #SoGehtSolidarisch demonstration organised by Unteilbar on 14th June with circus street animation. This marked the annual Unteilbar protest, meaning „Indivisible“ in German, that brought thousands of people into the streets in the name of social causes including sea rescue, anti-racism, anti-semitism and more rights for an open society. The protest was designed to be corona-friendly, as those taking part maintained distance by forming a „band of solidarity“, linked by a common rope passing through the city centre of Berlin.
Our collective occupied the corner of Jannowitzbrücke with our circus tent and colourful street activities, covering the pavement with hopeful messages. Kids and adults stepped into the circus vibe for the afternoon and greeted those passing on the street together in solidarity.
